I'm writing this on an Apple iPad. I didn't want an iPad — I wanted Flash support and a more open device. I won this one. I'm glad I did. As an iPad owner, I'm finding the absence of Flash is a "feature" not a bug or concern. It seems Web pages load faster and better without so many Flash enabled ads and page features. And of course the app market covers so many needs I hardly notice the favoring of Apple formats. I'm glad for the choices Apple made to bring me a great product. I had thought I wanted an Android powered tablet when I eventually bought one. I'm not so sure that would have worked out well. The two devices I have that are powered by Android don't work well at all. I hear there are better Android powered devices — but my experience thus far with Android is not a good one. So here I sit with the following experiences Apple = good Android = no so great for me It's not hard to figure out which is higher on my list for future purchases. Apple will get preferential consideration because they gave me the best experience with their product. I have confidence in the Apple brand. Not so much with the Android brand — so far at least. I never saw myself ever becoming an "Apple fanboy" — but in the end, a great product experience has me feeling that way. Thanks Apple. Thanks Steve Jobs. |
